An Arts & Crafts Ruskin glazed pottery brooch in a sterling silver frame, circa 1915

Ruskin Pottery was an English art pottery founded in 1898 by Edward Richard Taylor and his son William Howson Taylor in Smethwick, near Birmingham.

Renowned for its innovative glazes and refined craftsmanship, the pottery produced vases, bowls, and decorative wares that exemplified the Arts and Crafts movement's ideals.

Ruskin Pottery became famous for its lustre, crystalline, and flambé glazes, which created iridescent and richly coloured surfaces. Each piece was individually crafted, reflecting a commitment to artistic quality over mass production.

The pottery operated until 1935, leaving a lasting legacy in British ceramic art and influencing later studio pottery movements.
