A fine and unusually elegant French multi-strand necklace, dating to circa 1890 and composed of delicate seed pearls interspersed with softly faceted aquamarine beads. Its light, fluid construction and restrained palette capture the refined femininity of late 19th-century jewellery, while the combination of pearls, pale blue stones, gold, and enamel gives the piece a luminous and distinctly luxurious presence.
The numerous strands of seed pearls create a graceful collar-like effect, their gentle lustre beautifully offset by the cool transparency of the aquamarines.
